For residents who are ready, there are move-on flats available offering independence and opportunities for a brighter future. There are six self-contained flats within the same grounds as the main house and give people the chance to have a more gradual return to independent living.
After approximately 12 weeks in the house, people who have completed the treatment goals can apply to live in one of the flats. Residents spend on average 16 weeks in a flat and are responsible for their own food buying, budgeting and household chores, but still benefit from the support of Addaction Chy’s professional team and peer support.
Many clients at the flats take up volunteer placements at Addaction’s social enterprise RE:SOURCE or other agencies to learn new skills and be ready for employment. Most residents who extend their stay at the move-on flats leave Addaction Chy’s care with meaningful employment.
